Whether you are coming to us as a patient, prospective patient, or visiting a loved one, we will do everything we can to make your experience the best it can be. We welcome you and thank you for trusting us with your or your loved one’s care.

Office of Patient & Family Affairs

Should you or your family have a question or concern about your experience at our hospital, we would like to hear from you. Help us see things through your eyes as we strive to deliver exceptional care to our patients.

We suggest you first discuss your concern with your nurse, the department manager, or your doctor. If the concern remains unresolved, the Patient & Family Affairs staff is available Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. to help you.

 

Cafeteria & dining options

At Parkland Health Center, we offer a variety of dining options to meet the needs of patients, visitors, and staff.

Cafeteria

Location: In the main hospital building, the cafeteria serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
  • Weekends and Holidays: 7:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Snacks

Available at the Farmington Gift Shop, offering light snacks and beverages.

Hours:

  • Hours vary; please check with the Gift Shop for details.

Vending machines

Vending machines are accessible 24/7 and located near waiting areas and the main lobby.

Room service for patients

Patients can order meals tailored to their dietary needs. Call the dietary services extension from your room for assistance.

For additional dining options, there are several restaurants near the hospital campus.

  • From U.S. Highway 67, take the Maple Street exit and follow the blue hospital signs.

Gift shop

The Parkland Health Center gift shops offer a variety of items to enhance the experience for patients, visitors, and caregivers.

The gift shop is staffed by auxiliary volunteers, whose proceeds help support hospital services.

Sending an online greeting card is a quick, free way to brighten a patient’s day at Parkland Health Center. Simply fill out the form, and our staff will hand-deliver your message to the patient’s room.

  • Include the patient’s first and last name, and room number if available
  • We offer this service Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (no weekend or after-hours deliveries)
  • E-greetings are only delivered to inpatients listed in the hospital directory
  • To include a photo or file, use the “Create Your Own Card” feature

Spiritual care & chapel

Parkland Health Center provides spiritual care services to support patients, families, and staff of all faiths and beliefs. Our goal is to provide comfort and support during your time with us.

Chapel

Open hours: The chapel is accessible 24/7 for quiet reflection, prayer, or meditation.

Spiritual Care Services

  • Chaplains are available to offer emotional and spiritual support.
  • Services include prayer, counseling, or coordinating with local clergy of various faiths.

Interpretive services

Parkland Health Center is committed to ensuring effective communication for all patients and visitors, regardless of language or hearing abilities. We provide the following interpretive services:

Language Interpretation

  • On-site or virtual interpreters are available for a wide range of languages.
  • Services include assistance during medical consultations, procedures, and discharge instructions.

American Sign Language (ASL)

  • Certified ASL interpreters are available upon request for patients who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Assistive Devices

  • Tools such as hearing amplifiers and captioning services are available to enhance communication.

Requesting Services

  • To arrange for interpretive services, notify a nurse or hospital staff member when scheduling your visit or upon arrival.
