It's normal to be nervous about an upcoming hospital stay. Our goal at Parkland Health Center is to help you feel welcomed and supported before you even set foot in the hospital. Here you'll find a few details to help you plan for your upcoming stay.

Becoming a patient

Parkland Health Center is committed to making your visit as seamless and comfortable as possible. From pre-admission planning to ensuring you have everything you need, this guide will help you prepare for your stay.

What to bring

  • Comfort items: Comfortable clothing, toiletries, and any assistive devices (e.g., glasses, hearing aids).
  • Identification: A photo ID, such as a driver's license, passport, or state-issued ID.
  • Insurance information: Bring all applicable insurance cards and any necessary authorization forms.
  • Medications: A complete list of your current medications, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and supplements.
  • Emergency contacts: Names and phone numbers of family or friends to contact during your stay.
  • Advance directives: If applicable, provide a copy of your living will or durable power of attorney for health care.

Do not bring personal belongings like jewelry, valuables or luggage.

Check-in process
