The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and WashU Medicine is a national leader in cancer treatment, research, prevention, education, and community outreach. It is the only cancer center in Missouri to hold the prestigious Comprehensive Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), which also awarded Siteman an “exceptional” rating, the highest possible by the NCI. U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks the Cancer Center among the best in the nation.
Siteman offers the expertise of more than 450 Washington University research scientists and clinicians who provide care for 12,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients each year, making Siteman one of the largest cancer centers in the nation. Siteman Cancer Center and WashU Medicine provide access to more clinical trials than any other health system in a 240 miles radius. These trials give patients the opportunity to receive new medications and treatments not yet available at other cancer centers.
Siteman provides a full range of advanced diagnostic and treatment services for all types of cancer at the main campus at Washington University Medical Campus and at five satellite facilities throughout the St. Louis metropolitan region, including in Illinois.
