Robert Furlow, from Godfrey, Illinois, had been struggling with hip and lower back pain for years. “The pain was constant,” Robert says. “I couldn’t walk, bend down to tie my shoes, or even sit comfortably in a chair.”

As part of its mission to provide health care education and related services to our community, the Parkland Health Center Foundation awards two annual scholarships to students in our community: the Steve Lipstein Scholarship and the Landrum Hirsch Memorial Scholarship. 2025 applications are due by Friday, March 14, 2025.

The Parkland Health Center Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 2009.

U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice, has named BJC HealthCare’s Parkland Health Center a 2024 High Performing hospital for Maternity Care with uncomplicated pregnancies.
