Liekweg Honored Among Becker's 'Great Healthcare Leaders to Know'
BJC president and CEO Rich Liekweg has been named to the Becker's Hospital Review list of "Great healthcare leaders to know 2023."
The list features 90 health care leaders from across the nation who, according to Becker's, are guiding their organizations to new heights during this unprecedented era in health care. The leaders were recognized for using innovative digital technology, novel care delivery approaches and creative care solutions to shape the future of health care.
Liekweg credits BJC's 30,000 "extraordinary" team members, board members and communities as the reason he was included on the list. "I'm privileged to sit in this seat and to play this role," he said, "but I play the role in support of the rest of the team."
Liekweg joined BJC HealthCare in 2009 as Barnes-Jewish Hospital president and BJC group president. He was named BJC executive vice president in 2015 and was appointed BJC president and CEO in January 2018. He serves on numerous industry and community boards including Vizient, WashU and as board chair of the Missouri Hospital Association. He was honored with the MHA Visionary Leadership Award in 2022.
