BJC Health System Names New Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

(July 23, 2025) — BJC Health System today announced Scott Hawig, CPA, CMA, MBA, has been named executive vice president, chief financial officer (CFO), effective Sept. 15, 2025. He will succeed Chuck Robb, who announced his retirement earlier this year after nearly 35 years of service with BJC Health System and Saint Luke’s.

In his role as CFO, Hawig will oversee all finance-related functions of the health system, including financial management, planning, accounting, revenue cycle, supply chain, risk management, market network services, treasury services, and investments.

He joins BJC from Froedtert ThedaCare Health, Inc., an 18-hospital academic health system affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he served as executive vice president, chief financial and administrative officer, and treasurer. He also served as the executive leader for the system’s therapeutic and diagnostic services including all inpatient, ambulatory, and home services within pharmacy, lab, imaging, rehab and sleep services.

Prior to his role at Froedtert ThedaCare Health, Hawig held senior leadership positions at Shands HealthCare at The University of Florida, Duke University Health System, and accounting firms Deloitte & Touche LLP and Arthur Anderson LLP. Hawig earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a master’s degree in business administration from Duke University.

Robb’s professional honors include being named among the Kansas City Business Journal’s CFOS of the Year in 2021 and being named as one of Ingram’s Magazine’s Heroes in Healthcare in 2014. Additionally, he has been recognized multiple times by Becker’s Hospital Review in its annual lists of top hospital and health system CFOs.
