Lactation Support
BJC HealthCare’s team of accredited lactation specialists provide exceptional care, support, and resources to support families with their feeding goals.
Why choose us for lactation support?
We work with WashU Medicine physicians, BJC Medical Group, and other providers to offer a range of lactation support options. When you choose BJC, you can expect:
- Globally accredited care: Our International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) specialists are a part of your care teams and pregnancy journey from the beginning.
- Prenatal consultation: We offer prenatal breastfeeding classes that can be taken online, in-person, or in a hybrid format so you can feel supported emotionally and physically before and after delivery. Private breastfeeding classes are also available upon request.
- Bedside lactation coaching: Our IBCLC lactation specialists and nurses work with you right after delivery to find the best breastfeeding approach for you so your baby feels nourished.
- At-home counseling: We provide lactation support even after you and your baby go home. If you have breastfeeding challenges after leaving the hospital, our lactation team can provide over-the-phone help or we can connect you with a breastfeeding support class.
