The pediatric emergency unit is designed to treat pediatric emergencies and life-threatening situations. They are also equipped to care for children with a variety of injuries and illnesses. Each patient receives ongoing assessment and diagnostic treatment. Throughout the course of patient care, radiology and laboratory services are also available, if required. In cases where more specialized pediatric care is needed, the staff will quickly arrange for patient transport to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
