Rooftop Pool Removed from Queeny Tower

The long-shuttered pool on the rooftop of Queeny Tower has left the building.

Demolition workers with Ahrens spent several days jackhammering out the concrete, sliding the 15,500-pound pool structure out of the former solarium turned mechanical room and onto the open rooftop. Then they rigged the pool to the crane and lifted it over the south side of Queeny Tower to the ground below, where a truck hauled it away.
