Nikki Stafford joins BJC Health as president of St. Louis Children’s Hospital, effective July 13. She was selected following an extensive national search focused on identifying a leader with strong operational expertise, a proven track record of transformational leadership, and a deep commitment to improving children’s health.

BJC Health has reached an agreement with Aetna on all key terms for a new, multi-year agreement for commercial, or group, plans and a one-year agreement for its Medicare Advantage (MA) plans. This agreement ensures BJC HealthCare and Saint Luke’s entities, including hospitals and physician and provider practices, remain in-network.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital ranked No. 1 in St. Louis and Missouri and is nationally ranked in 11 out of 14 specialties.

BJC Health System has received 82 recognitions for clinical excellence by U.S. News & World Report, including national recognition for Barnes-Jewish Hospital in 11 out of 14 specialties.

Multiple hospitals earned high marks as Healthcare Equality Leader and High Performer designations.

BJC HealthCare recently made a significant investment through The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital to broaden its impact in palliative and hospice care by naming the Liekweg Family Palliative and Supportive Care Institute at BJC HealthCare in honor of Richard J. Liekweg, who retired as BJC’s CEO in 2025.
