About Wilson Ray, MD
Dr. Wilson (Zack) Ray’s clinical interests are dedicated to all aspects of spine management. He specializes in degenerative back and neck disorders, herniated, ruptured, bulging or slipped discs, myelopathy, nerve compression associated with low back pain, radiculopathy, sciatica, scoliosis for both minimally invasive surgery and extreme deformity, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, endoscopic spine surgery, awake spine surgery, minimally invasive decompression and minimally invasive fusion.
Dr. Ray developed and leads the Washington University Spine Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program. This innovative initiative has been expanded to the Barnes West County location, providing patients with minimally invasive solutions to many common degenerative spine conditions.
Dr. Ray partners with his patients to create a care plan that includes nonsurgical treatment options and, if necessary, surgery. Minimally invasive spine surgery or complex reconstructive spine surgery for adults would be done at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital or Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

The BJC Medical Group (BJCMG) partners with an independent survey company, Professional Research Consultants (PRC), to gather feedback directly from patients about their experiences. PRC sends electronic surveys to BJCMG patients following a medical visit, asking them to evaluate different aspects of their care.
