Nichelle Enata, MD

Nichelle Enata, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician who treats adults and children 13 years and older. She diagnoses and provides nonsurgical and surgical treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee conditions, including sports-related injuries, fractures, tears, cartilage injuries, pain, instability, and disease. Dr. Enata specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including hip, knee, and shoulder arthroscopy, and cartilage repair and restoration.

Dr. Enata takes the time to listen, understand each person’s unique background and goals, and create a space where patients feel supported throughout their treatment. She involves patients in their care by explaining diagnoses and treatment options and tailoring plans to their lifestyles. Her goal is a safe, confident recovery that helps patients return to the activities they love.

Originally from Belleville, Dr. Enata values time with her family. She has provided sports medicine support to university and professional sports teams, including the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and MLB’s Cleveland Guardians.

Dr. Enata earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at WashU Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and her orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.
