About Katie Upton, FNP
Katie Upton, FNP, is a certified family nurse practitioner specializing in cardiovascular electrophysiology who sees patients 18 years and older. Katie cares for patients with conditions affecting the heart's electrical system, including arrhythmias, tachycardias, and atrial fibrillation. She provides follow-up care for pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), as well as for medications like antiarrhythmics and anticoagulants.
After working as a medical and cardiovascular ICU nurse for 9 years, Katie is happy to continue caring for patients in a setting where she can build long-term relationships. She excels at explaining medical diagnoses and treatments in ways patients and family members can easily understand, and encourages patients to participate in decisions about their care.
Originally from Jasper, Indiana, Katie enjoys snowboarding, running, hiking, traveling, and caring for her many rescue animals in her free time. She also loves exploring St. Louis through local festivals, concerts, and St. Louis Blues hockey games.
Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing Education, and Family Nurse Practitioner postgraduate master’s certificate from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana.
