James Dimitroff, MD, AGAF, is a board-certified gastroenterologist who sees patients 18 and older. He treats a range of conditions, including biliary disease, liver disease, esophageal disorders, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and pancreatic disease. He performs colorectal cancer screenings, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopies and upper endoscopies, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), hemorrhoid banding, and GI pill camera endoscopies.
Dr. Dimitroff listens to his patients, answers their questions, and ensures they understand their medical conditions. He prioritizes the physician-patient relationship and emphasizes the importance of collaboration in providing optimal care.
Originally from the St. Louis metro area, Dr. Dimitroff enjoys sports, staying active, and spending time with his family and their dogs when not treating patients.
Dr. Dimitroff earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. He completed his residency at Southern Illinois University-affiliated hospitals and fellowships in gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He is a fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association.
