About Anuj Chhaparia, MD
Anuj Chhaparia, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in gastroenterology, hepatology and pancreaticobiliary diseases. Dr. Chhaparia earned his medical degree from the University of Delhi in New Delhi, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine, followed by a subspecialty fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Chhaparia provides comprehensive gastroenterology care for patients ages 18 and above. He diagnoses and treats a wide range of gastrointestinal issues, including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatic disease, malabsorption disorders, motility disorders, stomach acid disorders, and liver disease. Dr. Chhaparia uses advanced gastrointestinal imaging and performs complex gastrointestinal procedures, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, small bowel capsule endoscopy, colonoscopy, and motility testing for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases including colonoscopies for colorectal cancer prevention. Dr. Chhaparia is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Chhaparia enjoys getting to know his patients and spending extra time to listen to and understand his patient’s health care concerns without making them feel rushed. He believes it is important to educate his patients about their problems or diseases and to guide and involve them in their health care decisions. Dr. Chhaparia has lived in the St. Louis area since 2015. Outside work, he loves traveling, cooking, trying new restaurants and spending time with his family. The BJC Medical Group (BJCMG) partners with an independent survey company, Professional Research Consultants (PRC), to gather feedback directly from patients about their experiences.
