About Adam Shpigel, MD
Adam A. Shpigel, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a board-certified cardiologist, specializing in interventional cardiology. Patients can visit Dr. Shpigel for disorders of the heart, veins, and arteries. He treats coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, heart valve disease, aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, and many other diagnoses. He offers echocardiograms and nuclear stress testing in the clinic. Dr. Shpigel also specializes in a variety of procedures, including cardiac catheterization, coronary stent insertion, coronary angioplasty and TAVR (catheter-based aortic valve replacement) procedures, among others.
Dr. Shpigel is committed to excellence in all aspects of his medical treatments and strives to treat his patients with the same compassion and care he would want for members of his own family. He takes great pride in remaining up to date on the most current methods for treating a wide variety of cardiac conditions, whether in the clinic, hospital, or catheterization laboratory. He is always learning new ways to improve the lives of his patients. Dr. Shpigel takes great care to provide personalized treatment, offering the best in contemporary cardiac care that considers each patient’s individual needs and circumstances.
Dr. Shpigel and his wife Jamie, who is an anesthesiologist and critical care physician, have two sons, a dog, and a cat. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Shpigel and his family now call St. Louis home and enjoy exploring their adopted hometown. When not at the hospital or clinic, Dr. Shpigel enjoys spending time with his family, reading, the outdoors, playing the piano, and traveling.
Dr. Shpigel earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. He then went on to complete his internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in in Baltimore, MD. After his residency, Dr. Shpigel completed cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Washington University in St. Louis, MO and additional training in structural heart and valve interventions as well as complex coronary interventions at Baylor in Dallas, TX.

The BJC Medical Group (BJCMG) partners with an independent survey company, Professional Research Consultants (PRC), to gather feedback directly from patients about their experiences. PRC sends electronic surveys to BJCMG patients following a medical visit, asking them to evaluate different aspects of their care.
