ACO Transportation Resources

When you need transportation to medical appointments, we know that it can be challenging for some patients. Please check with your insurance company to determine if you have a non-emergency medical transportation benefit.

To assist in setting up your transportation, we have provided a listing of services by area and questions to consider asking to find the best fit for your needs and preferences.

Questions to ask when researching transportation
  • How much does a one-way or round-trip ride cost?

  • How and when do I pay for the ride?

  • What types of vehicles do you provide? (e.g., sedan, wheelchair-accessible van, stretcher van)

  • If I need a wheelchair, do you provide one?

  • Can the driver help me get from inside my house to the vehicle and/or from the vehicle to the office of my provider? If so, is that an extra charge?

  • Will the driver help me get in and out of the vehicle?

  • Will the driver wait for me while I am at my appointment?  If not, how do I let them know I am ready to be picked up?

  • What hours are rides available?

  • How much notice do you need to set up a ride?

  • How do I know that your drivers are safe and properly trained?

  • Can I use this service for purposes other than visiting my doctor or medical care?
