Gift Shop
The Gift Shops at Memorial Hospital Belleville and Memorial Hospital Shiloh offer a variety of items to brighten a loved one’s day, including fresh flowers, plants, balloons, greeting cards, and thoughtful gift items. Volunteers also bring a gift shop cart with selected items to nursing units throughout the week.

Send an E-Greeting
Sending an online greeting card is a quick, free way to brighten a patient’s day at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. Simply fill out the form, and our staff will hand-deliver your message to the patient’s room.
- Include the patient’s first and last name, and room number if available.
- We offer this service Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (no weekend or after-hours deliveries).
- E-greetings are only delivered to inpatients listed in the hospital directory.
To include a photo or file, use the “Create Your Own Card” feature.
Spiritual Care & Chapel
We provide spiritual support for patients and their loved ones, offering chaplains and chapels for quiet reflection, prayer, or worship.
Services
Chaplains are available 24/7 at both Belleville and Shiloh campuses for patients of any faith.

On-site chaplains available at Shiloh Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. and Saturday mornings. A chaplain is on call at both hospitals 24 hours a day.
Communion
Provided weekly by the Belleville Diocese Ministry of Sick and Aged at both Belleville and Shiloh.
Chapel Locations
- Belleville: George and Catharine Muehlhauser Chapel, main floor near the Surgical Waiting Lobby, open 24/7.
- Shiloh: Main Lobby Chapel, open 24/7.

Interpretive Services
Memorial Hospital in Belleville provides free language services to patients and visitors whose primary language is not English. Certified medical interpreters are available for both in-person and remote interpretation, ensuring effective communication during your care.

- In-person interpreters for critical medical discussions.
- Video remote interpretation (VRI) for a wide range of languages.
- Phone interpretation services for additional language support.
- Written translations of critical medical documents as needed.
How to Request an Interpreter
If you or a loved one need interpretive services:
- Inform your nurse or care team during your visit or hospitalization.
- Services are available 24/7 to accommodate all patient needs.
Hearing Impairments
- TTY/TDD Devices: Available for patients with hearing impairments.
- Assistive Listening Devices: Provided upon request to ensure clear communication.
- Sign Language Interpreters: Available to assist deaf or hard-of-hearing patients during medical consultations.
