How You Can Help

Building Health Communities Fund

There is an urgent need in St. Louis to redefine health and well-being towards a more human-empowered approach. The Building Healthy Communities fund addresses health conditions where people live, learn, work, and play. Through partnerships with local school districts, community-based organizations, and philanthropy, the Foundation focuses on a wide range of health risks to prevent disease, disability, and death. Funding examples include two school- based health centers in North St. Louis County, annual community flu shots, and the Show Me Healthy Women’s program dedicated to breast and cervical cancer prevention.

Medication and Antibiotic IV for Indigent Patients Fund

Nearly three-out-of-five Americans take medications daily. Unfortunately, social and economic factors are drivers of medication non-adherence in our service area. Annually, the Christian Hospital Foundation (Foundation) raises monies for our uninsured and underinsured population, providing more than $110,000 per year to assist patients and community members with access to necessary medications, devices, or services. Through philanthropy, this gift of health empowers members of our community to take control of their health. In cooperation with the Medication and Antibiotic IV Fund for Indigent Patients, the Mobile Pharmacy allows us to teach patients how to take their medications and provide life-saving medications before they leave the hospital. This service in conjunction allows vulnerable patients to leave the hospital with necessary medications, empowered to tackle their health management. These services have seen patients take better control of their health which has decreased emergency visits and admissions.
