Program Overview
The goal of Memorial's PGY1 program is to prepare residents to provide the highest level of pharmaceutical care while serving as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. The pharmacy department at Memorial ensures the effective and safe delivery of medications through an extensive spectrum of clinical services, including but not limited to, interdisciplinary patient care rounds, antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacokinetics, drug information, and involvement in multiple hospital and BJC system committees.
The PGY1 pharmacy residency program at Memorial Hospital builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
