WashU Medicine Orthopedic Injury Clinic providers offer same-day evaluation and treatment for adults and children ages 5 and older with urgent orthopedic injuries.

The clinics offer care for non-life-threatening sports injuries, sprains, strains, fractures, joint, or muscle injuries that have occurred within the last two weeks and have not yet been treated.

With four convenient locations in St. Louis County and St. Charles County, the WashU Medicine Orthopedic Injury Clinics offer comprehensive on-site care, including X-rays, splinting, and casting. Same-day appointments are available—walk-in or call to schedule an appointment.

Benefits of going to an Orthopedic Injury Clinic

  • Save time. A visit to an Orthopedic Injury Clinic can include imaging, splinting, or casting if needed. These services can be completed on-site during your initial appointment.
  • See a specialist. All patients are evaluated by a WashU Medicine orthopedic specialist. If follow-up care is needed, it will be scheduled before you leave.
  • Save money. The copay at Orthopedic Injury Clinics is the same as a specialty physician office visit. While WashU Medicine participates with most medical plans, please call the number on the back of your insurance card to verify your coverage.

Injuries we treat include:

  • Bone, joint, or muscle injuries that occurred within the past few days
  • Ankle, foot, or knee sprains
  • Fractures and broken bones
  • Strains
  • Minor dislocations
  • Sports injuries
  • Swollen joints
  • Injuries to shoulders, elbows, hands, and wrists
  • New back injuries or pain that has not been going on for more than a week

If you are actively bleeding or have an open wound or head injury, go to your nearest Emergency Department or call 911.

Chronic conditions, including ongoing pain are often non-urgent. For chronic orthopedic concerns, second opinions, injections, or pain medication refills, please call 314-514-3500 to schedule an appointment.
