You benefit from:

  • Recognized excellence: The Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) has designated the Barnes-Jewish Hospital and WashU Medicine Department of Neurology as a Center of Excellence for Huntington’s disease care. Our center offers the best clinical care and services for those affected by Huntington’s disease in the Midwest area, including Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Arkansas, and Southern Illinois.
  • Convenient care: We aim to make it as easy as possible to access the services you need. To assist our patients, laboratory testing and radiology services are conveniently located within the same complex.
  • Specialized treatments: Our neurologists offer one of the largest injection clinics in the nation. These specialized treatments can lessen symptoms of debilitating neurologic disorders, including involuntary, repetitive muscle contractions and uncontrolled shaking.
  • Expert neurosurgery: The Neuroscience Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is one of the top five centers in the United States in terms of the number of deep brain stimulation (DBS) procedures performed. Our specialists have used DBS to treat hundreds of patients with Parkinson’s disease, helping them return to many of their usual activities with reduced need for medication. This center is also the only in Missouri to offer high-intensity focused ultrasound (HiFu), an incisionless surgery to treat essential tremors and tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease.
