Dermatology specialties and services
At BJC HealthCare, we know that skin concerns have a real effect on your physical and emotional well-being. Our skin specialists draw on a broad range of evidence-based preventive services and treatments for skin, hair, and nail conditions to keep you looking and feeling your best.
Skin cancer treatment
We offer advanced treatments for all types and stages of skin cancer. The nationally recognized Siteman Cancer Center is home to top dermatologic surgeons specializing in tissue-sparing procedures such as Mohs surgery and laser surgery. We also offer topical chemotherapy and advanced immunotherapies.
Excisional surgery
Excision is a safe and common way to remove malignant (cancerous) and benign (noncancerous) growths on your skin. Our skin specialists can remove moles, warts, skin tags, precancerous lesions, and skin cancer. We may also do excisional surgery to take a sample of tissue for a skin biopsy.
Facial rejuvenation
If you have sagging skin, fine lines, or skin discoloration, our cosmetic skin procedures can help restore your natural beauty. We offer dermal fillers, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, and skin treatments such as Botox® and Dysport®. Your dermatologist can help you decide which procedures will best meet your aesthetic goals.
Laser resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing uses high-energy light to treat many skin conditions, including age spots, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, broken blood vessels, or birthmarks. You may also benefit from laser treatment if you have scars, excess hair, or unwanted tattoos.
Scar revision
We help improve the appearance of your scars and ease uncomfortable symptoms such as itching, skin tightness, and pain. Our experts specialize in acne scars, hypertrophic and keloid scars (raised or lumpy scars), and contractures (tightened skin from wound healing). We offer dermal fillers, laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, and scar revision surgery.
Leg vein treatment
Our innovative therapies for varicose veins help you find relief from leg itching, burning, swelling, and pain. We offer endovenous laser ablation, which uses heat to close off a bulging vein. You may also benefit from sclerotherapy, a procedure that injects a chemical solution into the vein to close it off. Severe varicose veins may require surgical removal (phlebectomy).
