PHC Designated as a Birthing-Friendly Hospital with CMS
Parkland Health Center's Obstetrical Services department has been recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a designated "birthing-friendly" hospital. The designation for high-quality maternity care, adopted last year in updates to the CMS Inpatient Quality Reporting Program, identifies hospitals and health systems that participate in a statewide or national perinatal quality improvement collaborative program and implement evidence-based care to improve maternal health. This designation recognizes the extraordinary care provided at PHC to improve the health, safety and outcomes for mothers and babies.
