BJC named among ‘America’s Best Large Employers’ by Forbes
BJC Health has been named to Forbes’ listing of “America’s Best Large Employers 2026.”
BJC was one of 700 employers and the only health care system in Missouri featured on the 2026 list. BJC was also named in 2025 and 2023. Washington University in St. Louis, which includes physician partners at WashU Medicine, was also included on the list.
For large employers, Forbes recognizes organizations that employ more than 5,000 team members and have demonstrated a commitment to fostering environments where employees can thrive. The ranking is based on employee surveys on topics such as atmosphere and development, salary and wage, company image, working conditions, and workplace environment.
Caring for more than 1 million people per year, with 24 hospitals and hundreds of clinics and physician offices across Missouri, southern Illinois, and eastern Kansas, BJC Health serves urban, suburban, and rural communities and is active in education and community health initiatives. BJC team members are unified by a shared set of values—Kindness, Respect, Excellence, Safety, and Teamwork—which foster the culture and the experience BJC delivers for patients.
“We strive to be a best place to work and that fuels the high caliber of care our patients and communities receive from us, because every moment deserves exceptional care,” says Jackie Tischler, BJC Health chief people officer. “To me, this national recognition says we’re doing something right.”
The entire list can be found on the Forbes website.
