Overview

Twin Rivers MRI. Located on the ground floor of Alton Memorial Hospital, the Center features a super high-definition 3T MRI.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. MRI uses a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures. Images can be examined on a computer monitor or copied to a CD. MRI does not use ionizing radiation (X-rays).

Detailed MR images help physicians evaluate parts of the body and certain diseases that may not be adequately assessed using X-ray, ultrasound or CAT (computerized axial tomography) scan. Appointments can be scheduled at 314-273-8870
