Communicating Effectively During Difficult Times

As professionals in a health care setting, it is our responsibility to address the unique and diverse needs of the patients and families in our care. Often, those needs include emotional support after tragic or violent life events. To help communicate effectively and with sensitivity with patients, mental health clients and the community -- as well as to help take care of our own needs -- please refer to the conversation tips provided.
