They are trained for any birth situation, including c-sections.

Registered nurses who have a master’s degree in Nurse-Midwifery. They care for women who are low-risk providing general women’s health care throughout the lifespan, including preventative screenings, pregnancy and birth. They take a more holistic and natural approach to care, rarely using technological intervention and scheduling more time with the patient during appointments for education and to better understand the person.

You may need the care of a maternal-fetal specialist if you have a pre-existing condition prior to pregnancy, if you or your baby develop a medical condition during pregnancy, or if you experience issues during the delivery.
