As Thanksgiving 2020 approaches, we — the 31,000 team members of BJC HealthCare — would like to take a moment to pause, reflect and share our gratitude with you, the members of our communities.
During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the virus had stretched us to our limits and tested our resilience, you stepped up to make a difference.
From gifts of donuts, cookies and cupcakes, to pizza, sandwiches and barbecue, to handmade masks, handwritten notes, heartfelt thanks and more — you renewed our energy, lifted our spirits and reminded us why we do what we do every day.
In the most difficult of times, your many acts of kindness kept our spirits up, even as the pandemic raged on. You treated us as part of your family — and, now, our BJC family offers you our sincere gratitude.
Throughout these many months, you have also stayed home, worn masks, practiced social distancing, washed your hands, and learned new ways to gather with family and friends. You’ve done your part to weather this pandemic. And we appreciate it. But those actions are just as critical now as they were earlier this year.
As we continue to do everything we can to ensure we are here to care for your health care needs, we ask that you also stay the course as the pandemic resurges in our communities. Please continue to practice all of these important COVID-19 safety precautions to keep yourself and others safe.
Last, please get your flu shot.
As our hospitals and team members continue to care for patients with COVID-19, it’s even more important that we work together to reduce the number of flu cases this season. Getting a flu shot helps keep you — and your community — healthy.
