I accidentally gave my 4 year old 1 1/2 teaspoon of Bromfed DM instead of 1/2 teaspoon. What should I do? Will he be ok?

Bromfed DM (brompheniramine, dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine) should only be given to a child by order of a physician. The normal suggested dose for a child 2-6 years old is 1/4 of a teaspoonful up to 4 times daily. Your child received more than the previously recommended daily dose all at once.

All you can do is give support, have the child drink as much water as possible. If you notice unusual reactions, please call the local poison center or take the child to the closest emergency room.

This is why one should always double check the label and dosing, especially for children.
