Can my 8-year-old take Bromfed DM syrup and Zyrtec 10 mg tab if he takes Concerta 18 mg tab daily?

The Zyrtec (cetirizine) does not interact with the Concerta (methylphenidate). They may be used together.

The Bromfed DM (brompheniramine, dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine) can interact with both the Zyrtec and Concerta.

Was the Bromfed product and the Concerta both prescribed be the same physician? If not, please talk to your doctors before giving the Bromfed product to your child. Taking methylphenidate with stimulants, like pseudoephedrine, can increase the risk of high blood pressure, nervousness, palpitations, problems with sleep, or other serious side effects.
