What are clindamycin drug interactions?

The antibiotic clindamycin (Cleocin) is available in many forms; tablet, topical and injection.

The oral product can interact with some of the other erythromycin type antibiotics, oral contraceptives, cyclosporine and chloramphenicol.

The topical form may interact with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.

The injectable can interact with some neuromuscular blockers.

Always have your pharmacist check for drug interactions when you have your prescription filled. Make sure that all of your health care providers have a current list of your medications including OTCs and vitamins.
