Is natural brown sugar safe for someone to eat who has an allergy to white granulated sugar?

I am going to say no. Brown sugar and granulated white sugar come from the same source. The only difference is that the brown sugar is not processed to the degree that white sugar is.

I would also be careful of the term "natural"; the Food and Drug Administration has no regulations concerning what is natural. The words to look for are "whole and organic," which are regulated by the FDA under the National Organic Program.

Be sure to check with your physician before adding any foods to your diet that you have concerns about.
