I just started using a cross trainer for 70 minutes a day, split into two sessions. I weigh 190 pounds and am on my third day of exercise and eating right. When should I start seeing my weight go down?

This isn’t an easy answer, but I’ll give you a bit of insight perhaps on how weight loss or fat loss starts.

In order to lose weight, you must expend more calories than you bring in. With the addition of your 70 minutes of cross training, you may have started expending an additional 300-500 calories per day. Given that you don’t start eating more than you did before, this should produce about one pound of weight loss every week (given that it takes roughly 3500 calories to “burn off” a pound of fat).

With that said, your body may be resistant to weight loss at first. Many people struggle when weight does not immediately begin to fall off when they start an exercise program. Don’t worry, it will start at some point, and if it does not after a few weeks, then it is time to re-evaluate your calorie intake.
