I am 44 and recently diagnosed with diabetes. My blood sugar is 122-150 now. In order keep it normal how many calories should I burn per day? I weigh 136 pounds and am 164 cm tall.

While it is important to burn calories, watching your dietary intake is far more important for regulating your blood sugar. If your measurements are correct, you appear to be in a healthy weight range, so exercise should be done for fitness, not just for calorie burning.

If you would like to lose weight (while having a positive impact on your blood sugar), then aim to burn an extra 500 calories per day through exercise. As long as you are relatively active otherwise, and maintain a diet with little to no high glycemic foods, you should be able to lose a little weight/fat and control your blood sugar.
