I love to eat frosted wheat. Why is fiber so important to a balanced meal?

Fiber is a very important component to a healthy diet. It is recommended that we have 25-30grams of fiber daily. Fiber can help lower cholesterol (soluble fiber in fruits, beans and oatmeal) and may reduce the risk of some cancers. Fiber helps our bodily functions stay regular, plus it helps give us bulk so we stay full longer — fiber-rich foods help us stay satisfied longer. Increase your fiber by eating more whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
