What is the ideal amount and type of exercise for a 15-year-old?

Physical activity is important for almost everyone. From what I have been researching for you, the recommendation is 60 minutes of moderate activity a day. (Check out WebMD). Walking is one of the best forms of exercise, as it requires little equipment (a good pair of walking shoes) and is relatively easy for most people. Just get out there and be active! Take an extra stroll around the mall, walk to a friend's house, to the store, join a school activity -- all ways to increase physical activity. If you have special concerns or needs, be sure to talk with a physician, as you should before starting any exercise program. Check out the local YMCA, too.
