I am trying to lose weight. I love to mix 2% milk low-fat cottage cheese and fruit cups. Is this good or bad?

It is a nutritious snack or part of a meal, if you keep the portion size appropriate. One-half cup of each is a reasonable amount for a snack; you could have a larger portion if it is your main dish. The snack portion would be approximately 150 calories, more or less, depending on the fruit in it. For instance, there are 70 calories in the Del Monte® Mixed Fruit Cup. And 80 calories in the Dole® Fruit Cup.
