Tips for taking care of yourself during a public crisis:

  • Disconnect from the “news feed”
  • Ask yourself, "How am I doing?" What do I need? How have I changed?”
  • Try to keep your regular sleep and exercise routines and eating habits
  • Connect with yourself and with people who know and care about you
  • Pay attention to your inner experience and talk about your feelings and responses to the events with friends, family and co-workers
  • Focus on sources of pleasure and joy, and allow yourself to escape when necessary
  • Take breaks; get up and move around
  • Be aware of your vulnerability and the negative aspects of your work, strive for balance, and maintain connection with other.
  • Look for the meaning in your work and day to day activities
