BJC HealthCare Names Jerry Fox Jr. Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Jerry Fox Jr. has been named senior vice president and chief information officer for BJC HealthCare.

Fox comes to BJC from Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he is currently the global chief information officer (CIO). He is responsible for information technology strategy and operations at the $6 billion industrial automation company with more than 25,000 employees in 80 countries. He has served as global CIO since 2010, after joining Rockwell in 2007 as vice president of information technology operations.

Prior to Rockwell, Fox held technology leadership positions as chief technology officer and director of global information technology operations at Dana Corporation in Toledo, Ohio, from 2004-2007; and as vice president of enterprise information technology at Cardinal Health in Dublin, Ohio, from 2000-2004. His early career included information technology management roles at Reynolds & Reynolds, John G. Black Enterprises and Mead Data Central.

“Jerry brings a wealth of technology experience, business acumen and exemplary leadership built throughout a 30-year career in the technology industry,” says BJC president Rich Liekweg. “He is a visionary information technology executive with proven success in establishing strategic direction, enabling business strategy, driving operational excellence and facilitating business transformation in large organizations. Jerry will be a strong addition to BJC leadership at a time when technology demands continue to increase.”

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Fox holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration – management information systems from Ohio University in Athens. He has been an active volunteer with IT industry organizations including the IT United CIO advisory board that connects IT professionals with community volunteer opportunities and the IT Senior Management Forum focused on expanding the pipeline of diverse IT talent.

Fox succeeds BJC senior vice president and CIO David Weiss, who is retiring in June after 27 years with BJC. Weiss was instrumental in the integration of information technology services during BJC’s formative years and has served as CIO since 1995. Fox will join BJC June 1.
