President, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital Progress West Hospital
Gina Calder serves as the president of the BJC hospitals in St. Charles County, Missouri - Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital.
Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital has 72 private rooms, 24-hour adult and pediatric emergency services, surgical services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, obstetrical services with labor and delivery suites, diagnostic imaging and lab services and is a Level II Certified Stroke Center. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is a 101-bed community hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Women’s Center, the Cardiology Center, and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.
Calder joined BJC in 2021 from Bridgeport Hospital, a member of Yale New Haven Health System, where she served as administrator of the 106-bed Milford Campus, and vice president on the Bridgeport leadership team. She also held various other leadership roles while there, including vice president of Ambulatory Services, executive director of Clinical Services, and administrative director of Geriatric Services and Patient Relations.
Prior to joining the Bridgeport leadership team in 2009, Calder spent two years as an administrative fellow at Yale New Haven Health System, and as an administrative intern at Yale New Haven Hospital. Calder is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a fellow of the Carol Emmott Foundation and is involved in supporting and engaging with community organizations.
She has been recognized with several professional and leadership awards including CT State Conference of NAACP Branches, 100 Most Influential Blacks in Connecticut; The Greater Bridgeport Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc., Professional Award; Connecticut Association of Healthcare Executives, Leadership Award; and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Fairfield County Alumnae Chapter, Dorothy I. Height Community Service Award.
Calder is currently completing her master’s degree in business administration, and holds a master’s degree in public health, health policy & administration, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, all from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
