BJC Institute for Learning and Development

BJC is committed to improving the health and well-being of our community. In order to improve our care and service to our patients, we know we need to pay attention to the development of our staff members. The BJC Institute for Learning and Development (BILD) provides many avenues for employees to expand their knowledge, including options to grow academically.

Child Development Centers

The St. Louis Children's Hospital Child Development Centers offer onsite child care for employees of BJC HealthCare and Washington University School of Medicine. Enrollment is offered year round to meet the needs of variable working schedules. Infants and toddlers are enrolled from a waiting list. There are openings for children age two and older for immediate needs or for the fall program.

Communicating Effectively During Difficult Times

Resources and instruction to help communicate effectively and with sensitivity with patients, mental health clients and the community — as well as to help take care of our own needs.

Dial 10

BJC HealthCare St. Louis-area hospitals and health services, as well as Washington University School of Medicine will soon be changing how we dial our phones – by moving to a 10-digit dial system (area code plus seven-digit number). Here you can find announcements, schedules, and other information about how this change affects you and what you and your team need to do to be prepared.
