BJC and Saint Luke’s Officially Combine as BJC Health System

  • Christopher Miller
    Christopher Miller, MD, MS

    Christopher N. Miller, MD, MS, Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, serves as the senior clinical leader across BJC HealthCare. Partnering closely with Washington University School of Medicine colleagues, Dr. Miller will lead BJC’s care delivery model redesign to provide the best value for patients and health care consumers. He will oversee the continued integration of clinical care to ensure BJC’s patients and the communities BJC serves have equitable and efficient access to the most comprehensive array of medical care and services in the region.

  • Bruce L. Hall, MD, PhD, MBA, FACS

    Bruce L. Hall, MD, PhD, MBA, FACS, is Vice President and System Chief Medical Officer for BJC HealthCare and leads the Clinical Advisory Group for the BJC Center for Clinical Excellence. Dr. Hall oversees clinical advisory services focusing on identifying high impact clinical quality, coordination, integration, and resource management issues, and efforts to address these topics relevant to priority populations. Dr. Hall and the Clinical Advisory Group advance physician engagement strategies to create and fortify clinical service coordination, cohesion, and standardization across the health system, in order to improve clinical outcomes, decrease preventable harm, and enhance efficiency of resource utilization. Dr. Hall and group also co-lead system efforts to effectively participate in alternative payment and episode payment models.

  • Hilary Babcock, MD, MPH

    Hilary Babcock, MD, MPH, Vice President and Chief Quality Officer, leads quality programs for BJC HealthCare, including oversight of BJC-wide measurement systems and quality improvement initiatives. She also has physician executive responsibility for BJC patient safety as well as infection prevention and occupational health programs.

  • Tommye Austin
    Tommye Austin, PhD, MBA, RN, NEA-BC

    Tommye Austin, PhD, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, is Senior Vice President for Patient Care Systems and Chief Nurse Executive for BJC HealthCare. Tommye Austin is responsible for BJC’s patient care strategy, integrated care management strategy, patient safety platforms, direction of clinical care management system deployment, and supporting the development of BJC’s 8,000 nursing professionals and other allied health professionals.

  • Thomas M. Maddox MD, MSc

    Thomas M. Maddox MD, MSc, is the inaugural Executive Director of the Healthcare Innovation Lab at BJC HealthCare and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is also a practicing cardiologist, a professor of medicine (cardiology) at Washington University School of Medicine, and a health services researcher. Dr. Maddox's research interests have focused on health care delivery innovation, learning health care systems, prevention in coronary artery disease, optimal care for cardiac patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery, and quality of care for cardiac patients. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications, received multiple grants exploring optimal cardiac care and outcomes, and holds national leadership positions in the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
