Magruder, Van Trease Named to Leaders List

Two BJC HealthCare executives are named to the Becker’s Hospital Review list of “130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.”

Sandra Van Trease, BJC group president, and Joan Magruder, St. Louis Children’s Hospital president, were among those cited for “a wide range of leadership skills” including operational, financial and quality improvement oversight.

As group president, Van Trease provides strategic leadership to The BJC Collaborative, and is responsible for overall business and growth strategies for several BJC community hospitals and BJC Medical Group. She also serves as president for BJC’s Accountable Care Organization. She’s been with BJC since 2004.

Magruder, who joined BJC in 2000, serves as president of St. Louis Children’s Hospital, one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the United States. She previously served as president of Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Prior to that, she directed strategic planning, physician services and market research for BJC.
