President, BJC Medical Group
David Knocke, FACHE, serves as president of BJC Medical Group, which currently employs more than 260 physicians in a variety of medical specialties, including internal medicine, family medicine, cardiology, rheumatology and oncology. In addition, he serves as the chief administrative officer of the BJC Accountable Care Organization.
BJC Medical Group supports the growth of physician practices associated with BJC HealthCare hospitals. BJC Medical Group also partners with private physicians and BJC hospitals to recruit both primary and specialty care physicians to growing markets.
Knocke came to BJC in 2008 from Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka, Kansas, where he served as senior vice president and chief operations officer. In this role, Knocke had oversight responsibility of the 586-bed regional health center, and he supported the operations of the Cotton-O’Neil Clinic, a 160-member employed physician medical group. Knocke has experience with clinical practice productivity and staff assessment, recruitment of physician candidates, clinic facilities oversight, and clinical information technology.
Prior to his joining the leadership team at Stormont-Vail, Knocke served in several leadership positions at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas and at SSM Healthcare in St. Louis. He earned his master’s degree in health administration from Washington University in St. Louis and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri.
Knocke and his wife, Catherine, have three children and live in Chesterfield, Missouri.
