BJC HealthCare, in partnership with the St. Louis Blues, will provide automated external defibrillators to Missouri or Illinois community organizations or schools in need.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans suffer a cardiac arrest each year. A large percentage die, often before receiving advanced medical attention. The key to preventing death from a sudden cardiac arrest is intervention with an automated external defibrillator (AED). The odds of surviving cardiac arrest decline dramatically during every minute that defibrillation and/or CPR is not provided.
