BJC makes significant capital investments at its hospitals in every
community we serve: St. Louis City, North St. Louis County, West St. Louis
County, St. Charles County, Columbia, Mo., Alton, Ill., and our rural
communities. On average, BJC spends more than $250 million on capital
improvements each year.
BJC’s capital investments are only one way we contribute to the community and our local economy. BJC is the largest employer in the St. Louis metropolitan area, and one of the largest private employers in the state of Missouri. By employing health-care workers and providing convenient healthcare services, BJC has an enormous direct positive impact on regional economic development. And, when money from our payroll is spent in our area, it also spurs additional growth, which is another way BJC contributes to the health of our region. | ||
